And We're Off - Module One - Day One
The first official work day of The Challenge is here. Before we talk about Module 1-Day 1 let's do a brief recap of the Pre-Challenge.
One week ago today, July 5th, the week of preparation kicked off The Challenge. In that important week the ground work was laid for the incredible journey of education ahead of us. Our first job to ease us into the challenge was to sign-up to U-stream with our Facebook accounts. U-stream will be the "tv" of choice or broadcast for The Challenge. (I have a feeling we will be using it in our businesses too). Day 2 saw the importance of Twitter receive focus. We set up our accounts and Ed suggested the best way to use the service. My brand new account is www.Twitter.com/alberthathazi. On day 3 Chrome was unveiled as this years browser of choice along with 5 important extensions. (Chrome IS pretty cool). On day 4 expectations of what The Challenge will produce for us were laid out in no uncertain terms by Ed. This, I might add is a refreshing change from the $10,000 per month sales pitches daily flying our way. Ed tell us to "Show up and work for 30 minutes a day." Simple but brilliant. Day 5 brought us the disclaimer video which informed us how much money doing the challenge will cost us. Domain name: $10, hosting: $10. Ed also let us know all the software used in The Challenge will be free for the duration of the exercise. The magnificent symphony concept was introduced on day 6. Market research. Traffic. Conversion. Product. Ed wanted to stress this so much he made us write it out ten times. We also did an optional day with concepts to help us get even more out of The Challenge. Things like using the forum, getting into teams, and getting our trial version of Market Samurai. This brings us to the first "real day" of the challenge. Module 1, day 1. Anthony from Market Samurai spent some time helping us understand the idea of markets, niches and sub-niches. This is a critical task that is often neglected in online and offline business alike. Our task for the day was to get three real life examples and write them down. True to Ed's word all of the modules have been easily completed in the promised half hour. So far the challenge has been exciting. I continue to look forward to the coming modules. There is still time to catch up at: http://www.challenge.co
